Boston's own, Extreme, were purveyors of the decadence dance. The classic lineup consists of Gary Cherone, Nuno Bettencourt, Patrick Badger, and Paul Geary.
80s & 90s Swag
They actually won a few Boston Music Awards in their day, so yeah, they were Boston's own. They were also the writers of Play With Me, the outrageous, and classicly inspired hair metal hit from the Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure soundtrack.
This was all before lead singer Cherone went on to be in Van Halen, replacing not one, but two high profile singers in David Lee Roth and Sammy Hagar.
Paul Geary's departure in 1994 put an end to the "classic lineup" of Extreme. That said, they are still touring and performing to this day.
